Landscape Drainage System Installation Process

  1. At least three full business days before digging starts, all underground gas, water, cable, telephone and electric utility lines are marked out.

  2. Data, such as type and depth of soil layers, pitch to street or other possible discharge locations, is gathered and analyzed.

  3. A drainage system is customized and a sketch showing all proposed solutions and its positions is produced.

  4. Amazonia's Landscape Drainage System will include one or more of the items below:
    • French Drain
    • Drywells
    • Downspout Connection
    • Grading
    • Sidewalk Replacement

  5. Digging begins. Our trenches are 18" deep x 12" wide, and our perforated pipes are protected by a filter fabric and plenty of clean ? crushed stones.

  6. Downspouts are connected using white PVC fittings.

  7. Drywells are installed. Our drywells are usually 7 feet deep and 5 feet in diameter with a 2' x 7' feet high compression strength ADS container at the center and a reinforced concrete cover for safety.

  8. Areas where grade is needed are filled using clean fill on the bottom and a layer of topsoil at the top.

  9. Sidewalk is replaced when necessary using 4000 psi concrete, the best concrete available for this application. Our sidewalks are normally 4" thick and have one expansion joint every 10 feet. Reinforcement is not recommended but can be arranged.
