Drywells Installation Process
- At least three full business days before digging starts, all underground gas, water, cable, telephone and electric utility lines are marked out.
- A location is chosen for the Drywells and digging begins according to predetermined dimensions.
- Drywells are installed at a depth of 7 feet to maximize dissipation capability. To maximize capacity, a tubular shaped container is installed at the center of a hole, which is either a high compression strength ADS container or a concrete container. The container varies in diameter from 18" to 48". This container is wrapped in filter fabric and contains 8" of clean ? crushed stones all around it. For safety reasons, every drywell is installed with a reinforced concrete cover.
- All incoming water lines are installed.
- Concrete cover is placed on a 6" layer of topsoil, on top of the gravel that is protected by filter fabric.
